Sam Phillips
I am a designer who likes to work around pop culture, whether that is music, films or video games. The majority of my work does centre around pop culture, but I also have an interest in app/mobile design. As a person, I’m quite quiet and somewhat cynical, but this helps to inject irony, sarcasm and wit into my work, which I also enjoy doing as it begins to pull people out of their societal facade and become more vocal. In a sense, I like to divert away from what people may initially consider or what they are scared to do. I do see myself as an independent person when it comes to design, but still push myself with new software and areas of design.
Shop-Watch book
This image shows an overview of a new supermarket system where shoppers are now instructed to follow a set regime to make the lives of other customers and staff more efficient and effective. The image is a cover of a guidebook given to management to see how the new system will fit into their store.
Sombra poster
This poster is from a collection of character posters I created to promote a film adaptation of the game Overwatch. Sombra is a hacker within the game and the poster is distorted to reflect her personality and in-game abilities.
Gig poster
This Childish Gambino gig poster adopts a similar style to the album cover with the same name. The imagery attempts to represent the music and lyrics by being bold, heavy, but also being contrasted by the fragile thought-out lyrics
